Rev. Dr. Kevin Crispell
Hi! Allow me to briefly introduce myself. I graduated from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (M.Div.) in 1975 and received my doctorate (D.Min.) in 2009. My wonderful wife and I have been married for thirty-six years, we have two married daughters and two wonderful cats rescued from a shelter for abused animals.
Ministry is my second career, as I was a high school English and drama teacher for several years. Elmwood Chapel is the third church I've served in as a pastor.
One of my strong desires is to see the gospel of Jesus Christ lived out and presented to folks outside of the church as we come into contact with them on a daily basis. What does this mean? I think that it means demonstrating His love by our actions and also being willing to share our testimony during the conducting of our everyday lives whenever the Holy Spirit provides an appropriate and sensitive opportunity--whether we're at work, in the gym, on a soccer field, or wherever we happen to be. The expression "We are the only Bible that most people will ever see" is becoming more and more a reality in our present culture.
Another passion of mine is to encourage the people in my congregation to develop spiritual habits which have served the church well since our Lord and Savior returned to His Father.
As exciting as all the current expressions of praise and worship are, I am more eager for each person at Elmwood Chapel to grow in the disciplines of regular prayer, Bible study, and fasting. All the other "stuff" is frosting on the cake as far as I am concerned.
You are warmly invited to visit Elmwood Chapel to share in worshiping the Lord, to learn more about Him, and to experience what it means to be part of a loving church family.
